I just came back after watching the new Superman movie, and I’m genuinely glad that I’m writing this review honestly—because I’ve actually seen the movie myself. When it comes to the 2025 version of Superman, there’s barely anything solid in the name of a storyline. If I had to rate it out of 5, I’d give it only 1.5. The film lacks an emotional angle and instead tries to present the story in a “cool” style. People are giving it ratings, and if I calculate an approximate percentage, around 70% to 80% of viewers seem to have liked it—but that’s the digital review. I’m giving you a human review.
story of superman 2025
First, let me tell you the plot: there’s a tech billionaire named Lex who wants to defeat Superman just to prove himself superior and feel satisfied. To do that, he creates an “Ultra-Man” through his experiments, and there’s also a female engineer who is now half-human, half-machine. She was once a regular human but transformed herself into a machine to fulfill her ambitions. From the control room, she gives Ultra-Man all his commands—and he follows them exactly. Ultra-Man is extremely powerful. So overall, the movie turns into a battle between technology and Superman. There’s also a bit of black hole science involved and even an artificial universe.
actors performance in superman movie
David Corenswet (on insta) plays the role of Superman, and the 2025 version of Superman comes across as cool and sweet in his approach—completely different from the one in Justice League. In Justice League, Superman was portrayed as serious, intense, and like an angry young man.
Now let’s talk about Rachel Brosnahan (on insta), who stars opposite David as the female lead. She plays the role of journalist Lois Lane, and her character appears much more mature compared to Superman. She looks like a graceful and complete performer, beautifully fitting into a fantasy love story.
Next comes Nicholas Hoult, who portrays Lex Luthor. His entry in the film is quite impressive and entertaining. He appears as a stubborn and jealous billionaire, and he fits the villainous role very well.
Among the supporting cast, I personally liked Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific the most. Also, Nathan Fillion’s take on Green Lantern added a touch of comedy, which stood out. The rest of the cast left only an average impression on me.Now, let’s talk about the most important scenes in the film… continue here
story and vfx of this movie
I watched this movie in 3D, and although the original movie screen didn’t perfectly fit the entire cinema hall screen, the 3D effects worked consistently well throughout the film. The director’s storytelling style was very smooth, and at no point did it feel like anything was missing from what he wanted to convey. The story they tried to tell was fully delivered, and the VFX and 3D effects were outstanding—there was nothing lacking in that department. That’s what kept me completely engaged with the film.

Final Verdict
so here is a my final verdict about superman movie After watching Superman 2025 in 3D, I can say this: the visual experience is impressive, but the emotional depth is noticeably missing. Technically, the film delivers—especially in terms of VFX and 3D effects, which are seamless and well-executed. The director’s storytelling style is smooth, and there’s no confusion in what he wanted to present. However, the core of any great superhero film—a powerful, emotional storyline—is where this film falls short.
The plot revolves around a tech billionaire, Lex Luthor, who tries to defeat Superman using an artificially created Ultra-Man and a half-human, half-machine engineer. The film dives into themes of technology vs. humanity, black hole science, and even artificial universes. Sounds epic, right? Sadly, it doesn’t always feel that way. The concept is big, but the emotional connection is missing.
Performance-wise, David Corenswet brings a fresh, cooler vibe to Superman, a stark contrast to the intense version seen in Justice League. Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane is mature, graceful, and well-balanced, adding a solid presence. Nicholas Hoult is convincing as Lex Luthor, portraying a jealous and power-hungry villain with style. Supporting performances like Edi Gathegi’s Mister Terrific shine, while Nathan Fillion’s comedic Green Lantern offers a light-hearted touch.
Still, most characters feel underutilized, and some scenes come off as filler. Even though the film has gathered 70–80% positive reviews online, this is not a film that will resonate emotionally with everyone. It may look great on screen, but it lacks the soul of classic superhero cinema.
⭐ My Rating: 3.9 out of 5.
This is a digital-age Superman with all the style but missing the substance. If you’re going just for the visuals, fantecy love, fantecy visuals and tech, you’ll be entertained. But if you’re looking for emotional weight or a gripping narrative, Superman 2025 might leave you disappointed.
